Had a scary one at Stevie today. Kiter had a tough relaunch due to wicked current and ended up with kite line wrapped around ankle with a powered kite pulling them thru the water backwards. A good kite knife could have been a life saver (the safety point being get and carry a good knife/ line cutter) But no......

IT WAS JOE THE KITER on his jet ski that saved the day with some amazing river skills. TOTALLY RANDOM THAT jOE WAS ON THE SCENE!! HE SURE MADE SOMEONES DAY BETTER. https://joethekiter.com/

Joe was definitely the hero! What was scary is that Stringy and I watched from shore, and neither of us realized that a potentially tragic situation was developing not too far from us. From shore, it looked like just another kite down with relaunch issues. From now on I will be paying much closer attention when I see a kite down.

That's a reminder that anything can happen and it's always good to be cautious and practice the safety/bailout maneuvers whatever it may be.

I want to learn new tricks but how much am I willing to risk myself getting seriously hurt. I'd rather live to enjoy riding another day. Patience with learning and skills will come.
