Plus having more options like a better classified section and industry section. Plus a few others...

I’d be happy pay a yearly fee that would support the forum.
One forum I frequent is free for anyone to join.
Next level, “supporting member” pays a small annual fee, and they can post items for sale in the classifieds.
Any member can post comments, send pm’s and read the classifieds. The fee is only for members who want to post for sale ads. I think it helps weed out the scammers and bots. _________________ Pull the cork. |

Supercool that you are taking it on!
Also in the “I’m not sure what I have to offer except stoke” category:
I’m not even local, but NW Kite is sort of a home away from home that reminds me of the community that thrived when this forum format WAS current. It’s great that it will live on. Also happy to donate if helpful as we do for Temira.
Thanks. |

New forum software is coming, and the stickies will be reviewed/updated when that happens for sure. |

Many thanks for keeping NWKITE going, NAK!
Sadly you can remove “Seattle” from the header as the PSKITE forum did not survive.
FYI - Another long time kite forum recently had troubles due to older software…

We nearly lost the Power Kite Forum forever. My web host upgraded the database server rendering our old forumware obsolete. It took two weeks to finally find a solution eventually moving the site to another host and rebuilding an updated database almost line by line.
I can't grantee that everything will work as before - and we did lose some of the modifications I once made - but 21 years of posts have been restored and, as of this entry, posting may resume.
On the upside, we now have a new version (4/2024) of this forumware.

Good going Nak! You have been a valuable contributor of this forum for its entire existence. One request - can you make it that the classified section accepts larger than 5 mb pictures? I'm right now trying to post my kites with pictures but the system won't accept the picture size because they are like 5.5 mb. So now, I'm going to have to figure out how to reduce the picture size.... |

Update: It's taking a bit longer than I planned to start updating things. Life just keeps getting in the way... It does look like the new forum will retain all of the old content as this software now has an upgrade path to new versions.
Thanks for all of the encouragement! |
