This is what happens when we accept hate. Hate for any reason as an excuse for violence is just f*&^ing wrong. |
Yes, very sad. Just goes to show you how life can turn on a dime, instantaneously!
Go to the import store and grab a pint bottle of Victoria Bitter and drink it in his honor! One of my favorite Australian beers.

There doesn't seem to be any info about what the fight was about. It sounds like it wasn't the punch but hitting his head on the pavement that killed him.
I'm not that familiar with Chris but he looks like he was a bad ass. I spent 3 years learning to surf on the Northern Beaches, and occasionally braved his home break of Narrabean.
Looking back, I don't know how I got out alive. Talk about localism. Zero tolerance for kooks which I very much was one. |

Always interesting to try and read between the lines. No one is ever going to say something bad about the deceased. But the comments about him being "flamboyant" and "larger than life" suggest perhaps he was cocky and not the nicest guy. This kind of senseless death is very sad, and of course he didn't deserve to die. But there are two sides to every story. And despite claims to the contrary, most bar fights don't begin with someone minding their own business. |

Our society sadly glorifies violence in the movies, Youtube, sporting events, etc. It isn't until someone gets killed that a red flag gets raised as a foul. "Punching someone out" is plain and simple a violent act whether it is fatal or not, and it needs to be dealt with by society as an act that is not tolerated. Had Chris Davidson been just knocked out in the altercation, it would never had even made the local paper.
Stop the violence, stop the us against them attitude, everyone just needs to embrace tolerance and just get along. |
