Can't seem to get hold of a contractor to save my life, but I just bought a small house in Underwood with lovely but dated hardwood flooring (looks like 2" golden or red oak) in need of serious TLC. I've done this work myself before but simply have way too many projects and deadlines going on. Please LMK if you have any referrals, as it will only be empty for another month before my furniture crosses the river.

Merci, Danke, Gracias!

Funny you should ask -

these guys are fixing ours as we speak - they do a great job at a fair price. I was referred to them from a good friend who is a life long builder.

Hope they can get you fixed up!

Good Luck

MC

I've texted and called folks but they must be busy. Any other referrals? I need to get these floors done soon as I'm moving in permanently now and my furniture can't stay in the garage forever - it's in the way of the boards!

Call Ivan:

503 866-1246

Crew out of PDX. They have done many homes in HR, including my house, my son's house, and two friends of mine. Great work, FAST, considerably less expensive.

Consider "Waterlox" for the new finish. A little bit more of a PITA to apply, but SO EASY to do repairs. Get scratches in the finish? Wipe on some thinned waterlox and let dry. Need to refinish? Wipe on some new waterlox--no sanding needed. It's not clear like a water based finish, but it adds what I find to be very pleasant warmth to the wood without hiding any of the grain.

Here's my 8 year old tigerwood kitchen floor--which naturally darkens to this color. It's a bit scuffed up from the cats, but I plan on wiping on some thinned waterlox this fall which should bring it back to new looking.

Thanks for these replies! I did get through to the Woodfloor Masters and owe him text pics. NAK, I can definitely use that in my old house as I need to refinish there and make termite repairs, and will look into it for this. Eric, I'll follow up, thank you.
