Using a small shackle of some sort to connect chicken loop to rope slider? Care to share info? Would like to avoid operating the release on chickenloop every time I connect.

I switched to a Cabrinha bar for this reason, and there've been some good closeouts on them. Overall I love how my Pivots fly with (feels better than the Norths and Duotones I was using), but the grip came unglued on my very first session - boo, Cab!

For tethered launch/landings (e.g. Rooster 35+), or when handing off kites between folks while flying, I keep one of these heavy-duty stainless marine carabiners on my slider rope at all times:

https://www.westmarine.com/west-marine-4inchl-stainless-steel-carabiner-without-eye-674lb.-mwl-115964.html

Probably about 7 years now with same carabiner, salt/fresh water (although rinsed if in salt) and not a hint of rust. Easy to clip the closed CL in/out when kite flying with bar sheeted out as long as its not under a ton of load.

But I don't use it most of the time, since even with the small CL, it adds a few inches of length so there's less bar throw... prob not great if you have short arms. Would be curious if folks had anything smaller. They make smaller stainless carabiners but I didn't want to sacrifice load strength for jumping so have the 4"
