Hi folks,
wanted to get some points of view on leashes that folks use for winging. In situations where I TRY to ride a swell, in few scenarios the board or mast landed on my head (use a helmet folks . I am using an 8ft coil waist leash.
Thanks for sharing your (funny or constructive) feedback

Of the attachments, I find knee to be the least annoying.
They are all annoying
I cover my head every time I fall and count to three before looking for my board.
My son does not use a board leash. He uses the wing to get back to his board. When I was kite foiling, and kite surfing I did not use a board leash. I am not sure why I feel the need to use one winging?

For me, I would have said, cause I don't know how to get to my board with a wing vs. a kite. But I now realize there are techniques, so learning them and ditching the board leash is probably a worthy goal.
But for Lior...
For the board leash, it drives me crazy to have the board leash dragging in the water, so I use a coil leash to my waist. A coil leash to your calf will also work.
For the wing leash, I hate having it attached to my wrist, it gets in my line of sight, smacks me in the face and impedes paddling with my arms when I need to.
I attach the cuff at my belly button to my waist leash. I see other folks using a longer leash to the back of the waist leash.
